Mt Ascot Merinos

Mount Ascot Merino Stud is a family owned and run business, founded in 1956 by Reuben and Heather Brumpton with the purchase of 4 sires, together with a number of stud ewes from the Haddon Rig bloodline. Today the stud is managed by Reuben & Heather's son Nigel with the help of his family; Rosemary, Felicity, Charlie and Lachie.

Mount Ascot has always been leaders in genetics, striving for success by benchmarking against the merino industry standards. The Stud has been very successful due to the durable, “easy-care”, fertile animal that returns quality yields in all seasons. This success has been achieved through our measured approach to stud breeding using objective scientific measurement, visual selection and experience to class and define our sheep. This combined with the introduction of profitable traits has allowed us to improve without significantly altering the genetic balance of the flock.

Mount Ascot is proud of its achievement and has been the dominant stud to win the QLD Ram and Ewe of the Year many times.

Innovative in both genetics and stud management, Mount Ascot looks forward to a very bright future as it embraces new technologies and innovations.
